  • Video Scope not available when adjusting analog input

I just started a project involving digitizing many VHS tapes using HD Storm and Edius. In the hardware settings, you can adjust input brightness, contrast, level, chroma, etc, which is handy.

You can see what the input video looks like on the video scopes in Edius.

However, when you open the adjustment dialog, the scopes freeze, and there is no way to use them for seeing what your changes in input settings are doing! Strange . . . . .

Are you all seeing this as well? If so, I need to put in a feature request. If not, I need to figure out why mine is not working.

I hope you made the request!

It is NOT only the scope - but, the timeline stopped playing too. I doubt GV can put in a change of this magnitude so easily - may require re-engineering of the entire code.

That's why I still have a RexRT. Only works up to Edius 4.13. But, the scope works great while adjusting analog input levels, and capturing. The Rex is a workhorse. Never quits. I've been restoring 1 inch video tapes and authoring DVDs for a client, and everything is working perfectly. I have a NX in another computer.

Maybe an earlier Edius version would work. I'll have to fire up my NX and try.

REX is only for SD. I don't do SD anymore. Every single project these days is HD :-(.
