I shoot and edit XDCAM HD daily in its native format mxf (no problems)

Both are capable of being read and edited with EDIUS 5.x. (you need 5.x for XDCAM HD 422)

EDIUS probably has the largest support for file formats out there in the NLE world. Not to mention the ability to mix different formats on the same timeline without a need to render.

I too edit XDCAM HD footage (mxf files) directly on the timeline with no conversion.
