  • Capturing from videocamera: better .avi file or .m2t?

Hi, I know Edius can capture as Canopus HQ Standard (.avi files) as .m2t fles. If I like to make HDV editing, is it better to get Canopus HQ Standard files or .m2t files? Canopus HQ Standard files are files with more quality?
    thanks

m2t is MPEG2 Transport stream. It is loosely compressed across groups of frames. Canopus HQ is intra-compressed (compressed within a frame). If your target is EDIUS for editing, it will be preferred to capture as HQ - easier for EDIUS to work.
