Yes I know it...I found it in a kit. Btw, thanks. It seems I really needn't anything more than a HDSpark.

So I assume you know that is an optional SxS memory card module to get the XDCam EX mpeg4 files.

Herre is the link for comparisons http://desktop.grassvalley.com/products/nlesystems.php

If you are looking for strictly monitor output, Spark is fine. Storm has HDMI in and HQ chip for "hardware assisted capture". Other than that they are the same unless you get the Plus version of HDStorm. That provides analog options

    HDSpark VS HDStorm

    Hi all,
I should buy a new HD camera, most probably the JVC HM700, which can save in 1920x1080i in the Sony XDCAM EX format.

So I should edit it directly, without converting it in Canopus HQ. I have Edius 5 with no hardware (just OHCI), but I'd like to buy a card to view my video on an HDMI TV.

Has HDStorm any real advantages for me over the HDSpark? Can it speed up realtime or something else?
    Thanks
Working...
