  • Burn to disc grayed out

When I come to export a DV timeline, "Burn to disc" is grayed out in my export options. Why is this? No doubt there is an obvious explanation but it escapes me. Is it connected with FireCoderBlu being installed on my pc?

I exported to DV file (not accepted by FireCoderWriter). I also exported to HQ Std - this also not accepted by FCWriter although it is listed as a supported file type! I get an error message "This video format is not accepted" when I select the output button (to DVD) even though the file appears in the preview window. I am running FCWriter v1.01.

At the moment, therefore, I seem to be completely scuppered. I have a large backlog of DV material to edit as well as accumulating AVCHD material.

Suggestions on the causes of, and solutions to my problem will be welcome.

looks like your project setting is set to p instead of i

UK is 50i (50 fields per second as required by DVD spec)

p = progressive and is suitable for output to film for cinema or the web

Thank you for that fast and accurate reply - my project was indeed set to p not to i.

There appears to be no way to change project settings from p to i from within my p project setting - unless I am again missing something obvious. I have therefore created a new SD setting of 50i lower field first, imported my previously rendered p file, changed the file from p to i in properties and am now burning. It looks as though I have lost all my chapter markings in the process. If this proves to be the case, I will go through and add new markers for a subsequent burn.
