In a previous post it was discussed that sometimes when importing music files they can be very loud and even clip. I just imported a song and the entire file clips. I know it isn't a distorted file because it came from a cd. No big deal I simply lowered the level. I just finished a project and after adjusting the audio levels (I also checked by clicking ctrl + G) everything sounded fine. Once I burned a test dvd the audio didn't sound right coming from the dvd player. Some portions we just too low. It sounded great from the timeline and the levels were right on the nose. So my question is should I change my audio reference level (in project settings)? I have it currently set to -20db. Maybe I should raise the level. Any ideas? Thanks.

I still do a lot of audio there, or in Steinberg’s Wave Lab, so I can still use audio-plugin from Steinberg, TC, or Waves. When ready, I re-import the audio in Ediusvolki (Sony HVR-V1E + DR-60)

If I am not mistaken you can only set project reference level to reference levels which are video standard. -12/ -20 ntsc and -18 for pal.Steve

I tried changing the level to -12 (versus -20) in the project that is currently on my timeline. I didn't really know what to expect but I don't see any difference. Maybe I don't understand how it works in Edius?David
