  • Montage Help

Although I have Edius 5 I still prefer my 3.62 (photo album) I need to produce a Montage, all the stills are 4:3 (720by 756) pal but the Project will be 16:9. Leaving the stills at original aspect on a 16:9 project is fine everything is proportional byt it does have black sides. I would now like to replace the black around the stills with a background. I have Photoshop and guess i need to produce a new still. what size does the background need to be for 16:9 in order to maintain the stills original size etc. when overlayed on background (cut and Paste). Then i can import into Imaginate to complete.

Thanks Anton it does the trick as long as i then change the new photo back to 4:3 Photo is in correct aspect and Border is displayed in Photoshop Background chosen colour
Is there a way to convert an existing background to your given dimesions
obviously changing the background image size does not work

Anton Ive cracked it . Using the place command you can resize background
and paste the image on to it Placing on a [email protected] project with aspect of 4:3 gives the desired effect

you can right click the header bar of the image in photoshop and choose canvas size, set to 1024
