  • Hey JohnyTDR nice, I got a little Water Buoy that inflates a balloon to bring the Quad back to the surface if it goes down.

Here is my Little Phantom with a $180 brushless gimbal over my local creek.

What blows me away is I have to have my Pilots license to fly this little toy for money over here in AUS. Flight plans, radio to talk to other aircraft and on it goes. Just ridiculous, but as a hobbyist I can do what ever I like with it so its got nothing to do with safety or privacy.

CASA (AUS FAA) are so out of touch with this cheap tech that by the time they come out with new regulations these things will be so tiny with amazing camera performance that it will be impossible to police.

      Very nice video, video’s
Yep need a license here in the UK for money, if you’re using a monitor or goggles to fly then you need somebody next to you watching the aircraft. I can understand it on FPV planes.

        • I enjoy reading and learning from the forum. Any video created with Edius is relevant here for training and education. Subjective, constructive technical criticism is extremely helpful. Subjective positive adjectives are welcome. As my great grandfather taught me, "if you don't have something constructive to say, don't say it". Ironically, I logged on just now to specifically look for Video content edited using Edius. My thinking was to go to search the source of serious, vetted Edius users, not a third party social site.

                    • 5Rhythms and Moving Essence | Bond car, hexacopter and Zeiss lenses on an OMD

Hey folks - I'm well proud of this I'll be honest, the subject is a passion of mine so it was wonderful to be given the go ahead to make the short I had envisioned a year or so before the client was happy to film it.

                      YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pYjxF_VFvc and it's original vimeo location - https://vimeo.com/67391715

I had a pilot operate the hexacopter and I did the camera work through a monitor, that footage at the start and end is from an NEX-7 on full auto settings. I was very steadfast that for the last shot, I wanted one continuous shot from the inside of the hall, out of the hallway and up into the sky. The pilot wasn't game to fly it out of the corridor so the sound recordist walked backwards holding it, then we engaged the motors when clear of the door and he let it go, with myself and my monitor holder all walking backwards in tandem from the inside of the hall to outside. Full auto was necessary to compensate for the interior lighting to the exterior :)

Aside from the aerial work, everything was shot on an Olympus OMD-EM5 using an adapter and Zeiss CP2 lenses. The majority is hand held (eg hanging out the car window) aside from an odd slider shot and tripod for the explanation section, all manual focus.

The interior time lapses are done by speeding up footage recorded on an NEX-5 via the Edius time line. Lastly the slow-mo is from a GoPro3. I spent a lot of time using NeatVideo and such as the GoPro was on its second outing and I had little idea how to get decent video out of it in low light. The large arcing camera work is the GoPro gaffa taped to the end of a Rode boom pole, being swung around by the rather tall sound guy :)

Edited entirely in Edius 6.53 - hope you enjoy!

The wife's story was also edited in Edius (as is everything I've ever made), no James Bond car or flying stuff for that mind you, shot using the OMD and old Nikkor glass, I honestly had to have the camera 15 metres away to get the 105 f2 framed reasonably at the x2 crop - https://vimeo.com/69728940 )

                      • Here is the making of of the biggest party in france,

                        called "les ambassadeurs",

this year it took place in a historic place the castle of Vincennes, where the king of France used to hustle.

i shot and edit the making of and the party, there is nothing technical in the edit.

Hi Dave, thanks for your suggestions. I know Youtube too has a on demand option. Do you think Vimeo is better than Youtube for this option? I have ever used an on demand site and now I'd like to do a try with a free on demand web site (for some months). Do you know some interesting free on demand web sites?
                              Thanks again.
