Hello
Well I moved from Perth to Cairns now, how much nicer is it here hey :-)
Anyways I took the 7D out and shot some Rainforest - Creeks.
The Raw movs straight from the camera were cut up on my old 3.2 Quad Core running Win 7 and of course using EDIUS. All I ever hear is pro res this and pro res that when we can just edit the raw files as is lol.
This one is a wonderful little Rainforest clip I shot around Cairns, Queensland with the Canon 7D. www.flykam.com.au Flykam media productions can arrange you...

It's been a long time since I posted (been editing as usual, lol). Here's something very different for me. It was done for fun and to see if I could pull it off. Lots of challenges.

Grass Valley should use it as advertising, the chroma key was perfect. Very professional. must have taken a very long time. The slide puzzle and rubik cube effects were especially good. Probably the best totally Edius video I have seen. Well done.

Thanks a lot guys! Coming from two senior members, that means a lot to me. :-)
Truth be told, there were some elements that I had to process outside of Edius. There was alotta tracking a alotta of rig removal that was quite challenging. For some shots I had to dig in and clean up frame by frame. So yes, it did take quite a while to get it done. The puzzle slider and Rubik's cube sequences were also quite tricky to "solve," especially since I've never in all my life been able to solve that damned thing! I took a cue from Michel Gondry for that one :-)
But I'd say about 85-90% of it was cut and composited on Edius. The HQ and Lossless codecs coupled with Edius allowed me to composite and color grade in real time with complete, fluid freedom. The Chrominance, Region and Combine Effects were particulary useful for this project and I used them quite a lot.
I'll be posting links for other projects I've cut on Edius real soon, so stay tuned!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you once more for your kind words. :-)
Barry thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed it, felt I was there, very emotive, beautifully composed shots.
I love gum trees and grow some hardier types here in my UK garden, (grown from seed) always at risk in our winters though, tell me what is the name of those blue flowers seen covering so much dry ground along the creeks in your film?
