HDStorm HDMI SD out...?

Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere but when I switch a HD project to SD, I lose the HDMI signal out to my external HDTV monitor. Switch back to HD and it returns. Is there no HDMI SD out or am I missing something? Thanks!

Ok this has been explained like a gazillion times but here it goes: :)
If you monitor does not support sd it you will not get the signal.
Use the HQX-E1 monitor application. In that application you will see the framerates and resolution your LCD monitor supports . Those and only those you will be able to see.

Yes, I tried that and it says my monitor supports 720x480p. Isn't that SD? If so... I go back to my original question, what am I missing here...?

See the p it is progressive. If you use a sd i as in interlaced it cannot be sent becauce monitor does not support it.

So, it only means (considering the monitor I'm using) I cannot view 480 interlaced material over HDMI, correct? If I hook up a component cable and use that input for SD, will I be able to view 480i that way (assuming my monitor supports it)? I'm pretty sure it does as I've had a 480i dvd player hooked up to it before.

That is correct . There are many LCD monitors that do not support sd over HDMI.
For those the component or the S connection are the once to use for sd.
