are you just guessing or did you specific tests?

I can't confirm it' is caused by Vitascene.

I have same problem with "greyed out UNDO/Redo", especially on large projects.

What are your projects looking like?
How large are they projects?
Do you have any oversized still image? Or hundreds of still images?
Do you have any AE plug in the effect tree?
Do you use any third party effects, such as ProDAD or New Blue? How many?

I too can't narrow it down to the cause. I thought it may be related to Vitascene because some of the other users on this forum suspected it to be.
But for some reason, I don't think its entirely related to Vitascene. Sometimes it can happen quickly once a project is opened.

It just grey out, and I'm sorry I can not narrow it down, I thought it happen one time after I render a visascene transition, but sometime not and sometime it just happen without me rendering anything, it is very sneaky that is why I can't figured out when exactly it got grey out.

Often my "control Z" dissappear, I have to shut down edius 5.11 and re open it to fix the problem
