  • Edius DVD burner doesn't recognize media

I've been trying to burn a dvd directly from Edius ( I use the Procoder to put it into DVD files, then follow through with a burn) but it will not recognize dual layer media in the drive. It says there is "no media" in the drive. I swapped out my drive with a better drive, with no changes. I'm able to burn with Nero, so the drive and media must be ok. I'm using Edius 4.61.

What type of media are you using? allways use good quality media like Taiyo Udin, TDK,

can you try DVD Creator direct from timeline, you can disable menu if you don't need a menu, it will be faster than Procoder Express

Using Verbatim media, heard it was a good one.

I'm trying a burn from the timeline now, the media is properly recognized so we'll see what happens.

Your problem is not an Edius issue.
If Windows will not recognize your discs, neither will Edius.
I tend to use cheap-o discs as scratch copies until I get it right, then I switch.

What about deleting the upper and lower case filters in the registry, then restart the computer, if you do a google search on how to delete the upper and lower case filters you will find it, this should fix the problem for you.
