  • Anyone use BD burning feature of 5.11?

As in, delivered to their clients?

I am currently about to figure out the workflow from going from a 1080i timeline to a BD disc.

    My options are:

    1) Export out of EDIUS into MPEG2 and use Encore
    2) Use Burn to Disc and use the BD feature in EDIUS

I like option #2, but is it 100% compatible? Also it seems to use AVC and my Sony BD player says "1080p60 and 3/2.1 AC3" which is a bit weird. Looked fine though, for a 2 minute export.

Yeah I have done a few from the time line (burn to disk) and seems to work great,
this is what I will be using for weddings.

I used both options and those BD RE played with PS3 & Sony BDP550.
      1. Burn to Disc option from the timeline to BD - it was over 15 hours for 1 hrs 49 min.
      2. Generate mpeg2 HD with Procoder3 - it was around 5 hours and I used MF7 for authorizing to BD RE.

Thanks guy. Any reason why it says 1080p60 and 5.1 AC3 audio since clearly it's not 5.1?

I think the EDIUS Burn to Disc feature takes longer because it's using AVC instead of MPEG2.

Also it doesn't seem that it "finalizes" the disc, or am I missing something? BD discs don't need to be finalized?

A bit jittery because I know the ins and outs of DVD since 1999, so I am fairly comfortable with DVD....but not BD.

I burned a blu-ray from the timeline last week and it would not play in my PS3 but would play in a Sony 350 BD player. Any ideas why...?

What burner and media are you using ?
I'm using Sony BD RE and Pioneer 203 with 1.10 firmware.

              Everything here plays fine on a Sony 550, i.e BD-RE 50GB + BD-R 25GB ect ect.

I've just got a LG blu-ray burner so a BD-RE can be used in burn to disc and should playback in a PS3

Hi Steve, no, just the PS3 my boys use. I'm doing it again as I write, just in case I got something wrong first time.

                    Just out of curiosity:
I've 25mins of HQ 1080/50i on the TL using burn to disc it says 1.45 left. Time wise, is this slow or just about right.

                      Hi Tony,
Are you using a FireCoder Blu card? I forgot to mention this is what I use, I can't see how you could really have a problem though, as I have done a few now using the FCB and not using it, they all play on my Sony 550, and my old Samsung BD-P1000 player.

No FireCoder Blu card just yet but I will get one if I make a few of the blu rayers.
Its OK Steve just messing about. I'll need a stand alone blu ray player too at sometime.
