  • Layout tool twittering

Now this may be a coincidence, but I have just noticed some 'twittering' on fine detail when zooming in from 100% to around 105% using the layout tool in E5.11 that I don't remember seeing on E5.01. This was using 1920 x 1080i footage from an EX1. Has anyone else experienced this?

That is normal when you try to zoom into a video more than its native resolution, if you have a larger graphic clip (more than 1920X1080) then it won't happen.

The effect that I'm experiencing is not normal and, indeed, in the past I have not found zooming in a smal amount on a 1920 x 1080 frame to be a problem. This particular effect is not the normal shimmering of fine vertical and horizontal detail, but more like an instability in the vertical (1080) axis around detail - I've altered the zoom ratio to see if that improves things, but it doesn't.

Is it possible to put the clip you are having this problem with online so I can have a look at it?

Thanks for the offer to look at it. I'll put a clip up ASAP, but at the moment I'm not at the editing station.

            Cheers,

This sounds typical of a scaling artifact on a non-full-1080p resolution.

Is your monitor and project full 1920x1080 resolution?
