EDIUS NX Installation Help Needed

Hi,

I have been using EDIUS NX boards for more than one year (I have one PCI-X and One PCIe board).

I am facing an installation problem after I formatted my hard disk and tried to re-install the drivers in a fresh copy of windows. I did not add or remove any hardware, just formatted my drive. Now the NX Board would not install properly. ADVC software reports the device cannot be found. Under Device Manager, there is H2-EX and Texas Instrument (TI) compatible firewire (This one may belong to my Motherboard) but nothing else.

I tried moving the card to diffrent slots but it did not work.

My System Configuration is:

Pentium E-6600
Asus P5W64WS
2 GB (2 x 1 GB) DDR2 667 RAM
160 GB System Drive
2 x 320 GB Video Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB PCIe Graphics (XFX)
420 Watt Power Supply
ASUS 16 X DVD Writer

Please suggest troubleshooting steps, checklist, whatever. I am in big problem.

P.S. I live in Bangladesh with very little access to official support and help from you guys would mean a lot.

What happens when you start the ADVC mode controller a second time?

After you install the Edius Software, you will need to go into your Edius folder and find the Drivers subfolder. Once you run the driver setup, the hardware should be installed and accessible inside of Edius.

Zorro: It does the same. I am certain the driver is not loading.

Ashley: Opening Edius, I only get GENERIC OHCI Input/Output. NX is not showing.

Is there any software utility to check the problem? Anything else I can do. I already reinstalled Windows twice trying to sort out this problem.

Ashley (the Guru) Guy is 100% correct.
Because the NX appears in the Device Manager, Windows also has installed NX correctly. Hang in there...

This is a very common issue.
It is because the Edius installer does not correctly install the hardware drivers.
A. Edius is installed and working correctly.
B. Windows DOES see the NX Hardware.

Now you must connect them.
Go inside Edius folder and find the drivers folder.
You'll find some folders for your hardware.
Open that folder and run the setup.

After you do it and reboot the machine, you'll find the output devices inside Edius.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, it worked perfectly. If this is a common issue, I think it should be addressed in Canopus FAQ / Troubleshooting etc. pages with sufficient emphasis.
