Alpha matte...is dimmed

I read a G. V tutorial to make alpha matte title step by step...but in practice when i selected a tittle (making with Q.Titler pro) and 1 video clip to make alpha matte, then click convert: file, file(batch), alpha matte are dimmed...how come?

try the different option of matte, such as luminance matte or invert
