On my computer that would show up as GV(0001), GV(0002), etc., and the format of four digits in parentheses doesn't suit me. Is there some way to control the format of the auto-generated clip numbers?

I always name the capture file at end of capture with something useful and short

The problem is that I like to rename my video files to something more usable than the standard numbering scheme, and then I have to do what you suggested and regenerate the waveforms when I drop things on the timeline. What I'd really like is full control over the video file names during capture, but until I have that generating the EWC files during capture is a waste of time. Ah well, I'll keep using the delete trick...

An easy way to get rid of them is to just go to that folder through explorer (after you capture all your files) and hit CTRL+F...then in the search box (You need to have advanced search options enabled) type in "*.ewc*" without the quotes, then hit enter to search for those files. Now hit CTRL+A to select all the .ewc files and delete them.

    Hea Kevin,

I don't see an option eather, but I'm not sure why you may not want these tiny files. When you need them, theyre quickly available.

If you don't need them use Windows Explorer>sort by type>select and delete.

    Capture without EWC files?

Is there a way to capture video in Edius without generating the corresponding EWC (waveform) files? I feel like I should be able to find an option for this but I'm not seeing it...
