you need two \\ in registry files

Did u update all the paths in the registry too to reflect the vista different file locations to XP - bet ya never - remember program files (x86) in vista

If you cant get it to work after this - give up and go back to 5.01 !

Question: Why do you have 2 backslashes in the directory addresses

    Hi mattie,
I put the 3 dll files now in the sysWOW folder on Vista 64.
Edited the Inscribe.ini (btw I found only 1 file to be modified the last line). But the result negativ. I don't know how I can solve this problem :-(

yes - u missed the 3 DLL files in c:\windows\system32 folder on XP which need to go in C:\windows\sysWOW64 folder on Vista 64

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\msvcp50.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\foxnsox.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\intsrc.dll

and inthe TMP folder - you need to edit the INSCRIBE.INI file
all \program files\ entries need to be \Program Files (x86)\

or whereever your Edius folder is

mattie, thanks for sending the logfile,
I tried but failed. TMP is flasing short on the screen then Windows message pops up with similar words "Program is not stable and must shut down"
    What I did:
Copied the TMP folder from Xp to Vista (Edius 5 folder)
    Exported the reg files
    Hkey current user/Software/Inscriber
    and
    Hkey Local Machine/Software/Inscriber
    and imported to Vista x64
    Any ideas?

here is the install log from my XP PC - working fine on there

Once I manually copied the files over and updated the registry as per the log file it works on my Vista 64 Pc too now

here is the install LOG file (simple text file)

    Hi wilddog,
yes I create the folders befor executing the regfile.

    Hi mattie,
I will give your proposal a try. Where can I find the install.Log?

did you create the folders before you execute the reg-file ?

the only way I have got this to work on vista 64 was to install it on my XP machine then manually copy the files and folders over. Luckily there is an install.LOG file which lists every file and registry setting that the installer uses.

Its working fine on Vista 64 for me now.

    Hello Wilddog,
I've just tested your new regfile, but unfortunately I got the TMP message "The destination path of Canopus was not found..." even I have changed the path
    @="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Canopus\\EDIUS 5\\TitleMotion\\STORE\\USER"
    in
    @="C:\\Programme (x86)\\Canopus\\EDIUS 5\\TitleMotion\\STORE\\USER"
because of German's version of Vista 64 bit
    Any ideas?

    Albatros,

I haven't tried yet, but did you save it as edius.reg? Also, and I'm guessing here, did you use PAL?
