  • Title Motion Pro won't Install

I'm trying to install TM Pro, but it is asking for an Edius v3/4 disc. I don't have one, I upgraded from 2.56. Anyone know what gives?

    Thanks,
    Scott Chapin

      Thank you,

I figured there is some solution out there. Last night I put a ticket in to GV Technical Support. Hopefully, I can find out soon.

Wow, I'm feeling a little scamed. Tech support says that I have to purchase TM Pro, since I upgraded from an earlier version. Heck, at that, it's not an upgrade, because the extra 299 US brings my cost almost in line with the full purchse price of v5.

That means for now, that I have to export to DV and title in PremPro. Never heard of a video editing program that didn't have a titler included with the purchase or upgrade. Why put the installation CD in the package, if it's no good?

Can I install an old version of TM and use it?

I got the same deal too, B&H gave the wrong imfo, so I ended up in that boat, but, lucky for me, ...dont ask me what I did, but I got mine to work....like I said, dont ask me cause I dont know how it happened, but it just happened one day ...just like that, it installed without a glitch.....and working great too....guess i am lucky.....LOL

Yeah, I just saw that. Actually, it might be all that I need and easier to work with too, but still. When you know TM came with earlier versions, and you are offered an upgrade from those versions, it is natural to expect that you are getting full upgrade rights, if not told otherwise.

Unfortunately, licensing for TMP upgrades wasn't transferrable in the same way EDIUS is, as it's a third party application - it's something we cannot control. (we can set the pricing and conditions of our own software, but not other vendor's software)

In this instance, the TitleMotion Pro upgrade can only be applied to the version immediately preceeding this one. (v4.x)

Tech support gave me a link to buy it, but I couldn't find it at what I think is the manufacturer's site.

Who provides support, since there appears to be nothing at the developers site, or GV site?

Thats a good question, I notice on Safe Harbor's site that I gave you its listed as a GV is the manufactor, and only works with Edius 5, maybe another question for tech support, or Safe Harbor

Harris are the manufacturer, as they are the owners of the (legacy) Inscriber titling product line.

They are responsible for development of the software, which is coordinated through EDIUS product development in Japan.

So the short story is, if you have a problem with TMP, you treat it the same way as EDIUS - contact GV technical support and have your issue investigated/reported with engineering.
