Hi Mike,
Before upgrading to Edius 4.5 I was able to insert a transition between 2 clips on the same track. I can not now for the life of me do this in 4.5 with any transitions. What am I doing wrong? I hope what you indicated in your post below is not the only option.
BTW, no other effects on the clips.
Thanks,

2. Place the clip you want to transition to on the track above the clip with 3DPiP and overlap it over the first clip.
3. Place the transition in the keyer track of the clip you are transition to.
It should work just fine :)

Whenever you cannot add a transition between 2 clips it is almost always one of two things:
1. Scroll down to 1 frame mode and make sure the clips are touching.
2. If you have 2 clips that are at their ends (no more In frames or no more Outs frames depending on which end you are working on), you must have "extend clips when applying transitions/crossfades" unchecked in the SETTINGS>APPLICATION SETTINGS. If that box is checked, then you must have enough frames on the end of clip (meat) to use in the extensions (i.e, they cannot be at the end of a clip).

Number 2 was the problem. Adjusted the settings and now works fine. Thanks a bunch for the help :)
