This issue still has not been resolved?? Wow, what's the deal? I thought I was going nuts ... never seen a color picker like this one. Why is it even present? It's useless as is, correct? -
I was wrong in my post above. To this day, I can still not get the QuickTitler color picker to do anything. If others have the magic technique for using the color picker and saving a picked color to the palette for later use... please share it.
Thanks!Leave a comment:

I am sorry guys but even i tried several times, i still cannot use the Quicktitler 's color picker on EDIUS 5.12.
Am i doing something wrong? Can somebody describe the steps we can use it?

Anton it was Layout, yep, I was setting a background colour for it when I made the discovery about the eyedropper.
Besides I never use 3DPIP, if Layout doesn't do the job I would rather go into After Effects where everything works properly.
Like drop shadows for instance.Leave a comment:

It must have been Layout tool and not QuickTitler that I was in at that time I was able to move the eyedropper to the recorder window. The eyedropper in Layout is not restricted as it in QuickTitler, I just checked on my other computer and I see this was the same in Edius 5.01, so nothing new there.Leave a comment:

Here's a gem of an app that's still on my short list to pick colors until we see further integration.Leave a comment:

Ok, I believe this is nailed...

So why is QuickTitler's eyedropper restricted to it's own window when this same tool is not in Layout? I suggest it's something to do with Layout being part of the Edius .exe while QuickTitler is a separate application that merely plugs in.
Macromedia Fireworks 4 is some software I still use a lot and there I can take it's eyedropper across to almost any other app running on my 2nd monitor where it's colour picker eyedropper works just fine, here's hoping Edius will be able to do this soon as I really miss it in Edius titler.Last edited by Claire; 05-10-2009, 01:38 PM.Leave a comment:

Well, the preview button was definitely there in 5.01, though I found the F3 key more convenient.
But now... wait for it... you know what? The eyedropper in V5.1 I enthused about, being able to sample from the recorder window? Well I just went to use this and it's not working anymore!!!! It's back to restraining it to the colour picker window.
Was I dreaming this? Nope, my business colleague watched me do it that first time, picked up a colour from the video preview and assures me it definitely happened.
Puzzled...Leave a comment:

How about the "Preview" button!
I could barely read what I was typing before.
A vast improvement!Leave a comment:

Autosave as
Another pleasant surprise in QuickTitler: "Autosave as" (even with toolbar icon). This solves the issue with accidentally saving a title with the same name. By using "autosave as" the title is automatically saved with a new name (i.e. number).
