  • Import .m2t file with an automatic conversion to HQ

I'd like to import .m2t files with an automatic conversion to HQ in the same way one can capture native HDV with an automatic conversion to HQ.

    Can this be done?

That cannot be done automatically...however you might want to try the following:
You can create a watch folder with procoder express and another watch folder in Edius Bin to monitor the output of the first watch folder
Copy the m2t files inside the first watch folder. After a while you will find them in your bin...

You can also do the conversions very quickly in the bun window :)

Like Mike said, just import all your m2t files, then in the bin do CTRL+A, then right click on any selected file and CONvERT TO....unfortunately you have to name each clip, but pressing enter always will yield the same result.

Do you mean to say, "...unfortunately you have to name each clip, because pressing enter always will yield the same name."

            Thank you.

No, I meant that when you use the Convert To tool, a popup will come up everytime and ask what you want to name your file, and it will go through the whole bin one by one. If you press enter everytime you get the window, you will have Edius' Convert To tool name the files automatically for you.

I believe the v4.5 update improves this a bit, and saves you having to confirm filenames.

                    Work with 3.6?

Guys - are you talking about v.4.x only, or will this work with v 3.6 as well.
                    Thanks,
                    Alan

No, the convert to file feature is not available in Edius 3.x
