Can somebody give me an idea as to what is wrong.

I have a Shuttle X with Stormpro2 fitted using E3 with updates, the sound is not coming out of the output socket on the Storm card, but will come out of the headphone socket on the front of the Shuttle X.

I have looked at all the sound setting options in windows XP and have also updated realtek 97 audio drivers.

I am not sure now if it is E3 or the Storm board.

It also seems that to play music from the windows media player will also now only work from the headphone socket.

Has anybody else come across this problem. The audio is definatly not coming out of rear of the Storm.

Nothing in windows is muted all seems well, in device manager there isn't any ? marks.

Firs thing to search for is if your project setting is using OHCI or The storm Card.

If you are using OCHI then the sound will come out of the computer. :)

Thanks Mike for your reply, the only OHCI settings are in E3 are the input settings this is set to Storm back panel.

On the output side there isn't any reference in the settings panel for DVstorm-RT settings only for DV or DV cam

When you create a new project you can choose from generic ohci or storm from the output device list. It is located on the left side in the project settings window. You must choose storm as output device to get sound and external monitor using the connections on the storm board. If you can't see storm listed as output device you must have installed it wrong...
When playing a file using media player you will not get sound from the storm board. It is only active inside if edius. But you can connect your sound output from storm board to line in on your soundcard in your computer and then use your soundcard to connect to your speakers...

Mike I forgot to mention I also don't have any video out of the Y/C out.

It seems active when I switch from DV to DV cam and back. The y/c socket has some sort of pulse on it, but not a picture.

Robbin, I already have the files in E3, and the machine has been working o.k it is only over the past week this has happened, I know about the OHCI etc, I have been using the Storm for 3 years.

I can see everything on the LCD monitors attached to the computer and can edit, but the sound is only available via the computers headphone socket and to see the final on an external monitor I use the y/c from the rear of the Storm board but I do not have any output from the rear audio and y/c sockets.

I have done nothing to the system, it was o.k until about a week ago.

Just thinking if the Storm board has gone awol, maybe I should reload the operating system, or use the master computer disks and do a complete reinstall.

I do have have a new NX board waiting to go into the next quad core cpu due out shortly, I will build another system for HD. Maybe I should try that one in place of the Storm.

It does sound like something is going a little wacky on the Storm, if you are getting the video out to the NTSC monitor but the sound is coming through the computer there is something wrong.

I do not know what it could be... sorry I am not more help.

Anton, It seems that he sees the video coming out of the Card but not the sound unless I am mis-understanding what I am reading (which is quite possible) :)

that sounds like no video and no audio, that is why I want to see his project properties

Anton and Mike, I new you guys would solve the problem, yes I looked on the time line under the save icon and then project settings and it had defaulted to OHCI instead of DV Storm RT output.

                      Thanks so much very grateful.

Great! I was a little comnfused because I thought you were getting the video output off the back of the card.

I am glad it is working for you now! :)
