  • Recommended blu ray authoring tool

Hi all, avid user of Edius 4x. It's cool!

However, anyone have any suggestions for a cheap blu ray authoring tool? Don't want to spend hundreds!

    Cheers

    Tony,

I include Ulead Movie Factory 6 Plus on all the system that I provide to my customers. They are all putting out Blu-Ray disks that are authored and play back compatibility has been excellant. Easy, Fast & effective. Best of all, it is under $100.

My customers that use this tool are not trying to produce 5.1 surround sound or complicated menu systems. Nor, are they trying to shoehorn the maximum amount of video onto a 25GB disk.

Just export MPEG2 HD program stream and let Ulead convert the audio to 2.0 dolby digital. Quite simple.

Hi, I downloaded the trial and it only had HD-DVD as an option! :S

It needs to be the full version 6 PLUS. This does do Blu-Ray. Trust me.

Ulead has long finished, it is now owned by Corel, check out the Corel site.

It just worries me that it won't do what I want and it won't let me try it! I remember this from a while back and it only did HD-DVD and people with Blu were up in arms. I do trust what you are saying but I've got to spend $99 on a punt :S

Is there any way I can burn to blu ray directly from Canopus saving my lovely HD mpg that I have created somehow? I know my PS3 will play the MPG but I want my creations to be plaid on my Sony and Samsung blu ray players..

              Regards,
              T

Yeah Anton, I agree, why not just wait a few weeks, no need for MovieFactory.

Users of EDIUS 5 will qualify for a free upgrade from the included cut down version to the full MF7 we have been told;-)

Its just a matter of time when Corel get the updated plugin to work well with EDIUS 5;-p

This is supposed to be on the horizon..........No not that one - The next............................

They have not set a date only you can figure that it will probably be a few weeks after NAB.

I agree that if it can be banged out from the timeline that will be great. I hope that is integrated into the FireCoder Blu plug-in ;).
