  • Setting of Timeline

Just want to ask you what is supposed to be my setting in the timeline if:
    1. Im working with sd avi and my output is sd dvd
    2. Im working with Mpeg and my output is dvd
    3. Im working with HD AVI and my output is dvd

It seems that in 5.01 there are some strange things happening. i GOT a scissoredge most of the time but never in 4.52.

4 If im dealing with HD AVI progressive and make an SD DVD what is supposed to be my timeline setting and my output setting?

    Tnx in advance

If you are working with SD AVI use the SD setting for 4:3 or 16:9 as you would for standard DV footage
Working with DVD footage use the same settings, EDIUS does not have a specific setting for Mpeg it does a conversion on the fly BUT!!! make sure the clip / clips on the timeline from DVD DO have their field order set to "UPPER FIELD FIRST" using Right Click<> Properties" even though the SD setting for AVI is "Lower Field".
TRUST Edius it will look after you and produce perfect results!
For Hi Def use the appropriate setting for your source
    HDV 1440 x 1080
AVCHD and any FULL HD 1920 x 1080
BUT make sure by using the field order for the imported clips are appropriate for the imported video / Graphics, "REMEMBER" SD AVI is "LOWER Field" MPEG is "UPPER Field" ALL HD is "UPPER"
    Hope this helps
