    Photos to Video & Edius

I had a client inquiring whether I knew of anyone in Regina, Saskatchewan, doing the kind of work I do, producing Photos to Video Shows, using Edius and Imaginate. If you know of anyone please email me at [email protected].

Thanks for helping Edius users serve the clientele in their region.

Well, that person can't be a recent purchaser of EDIUS system - because, I think - Imaginate is now no longer available for sale anywhere. I think it was stopped for about 1 - 2 years now.

Imaginate 2.0 is still current, alive and well. Though there are no new updates on it but is available through authorized GV dealers.

I think he's looking for someone in that area who HAS Edius and Imaginate to do some editing - that's my take on the post.

If the price is right, I'll move there for a couple of weeks!

We use Edius plus Imaginate very frequently. It is very versatile and allows large magnifications and controls for 1080p projects.
Here is a test project where we only had stills available and managed to make a half decent video of it...
Feel free to browse that pseudo-name account for other examples..

                    imaginate - Edius 5

I realize that the original poster was asking about people using Imaginate in a particular area and I am not intending to hijack the thread here but I find the subject of Imaginate very interesting. I have always appreciated the simplicity of Imaginate - quick and easy and always gets great results. Doing the same thing in After Effects always seems slow in comparison. Even though I have found a few strange bugs Imaginate has been great. However, once it quit working easily with Edius (a few versions back) I began to be frustrated with Imaginate.

Recently I was told by someone (in Sales not tech support) at TGV that the features of imaginate were more or less being included in Edius via the layout feature. I haven't tried to make a montage via the layout feature (have any of you tries that?). Just looking at "layout" in Edius 5 it does seem to look a bit more like imaginate than previous verions, it hardly has the same features or tool set - perhaps this is being slowly implemented in upcoming versions (I hope so). Has anyone heard about this?

                    Mat

My experience so far with the layout tool in Edius 5.01 has been somewhat frustrating...I find the interface on Layout tedious and not at all intuitive...in contrast with the very intuitive feel of Imaginate. I'll stick with Imaginate and simply output avi files that work very well on the time line.
If they get layout to work like Imaginate, then we'll be all set.

You don't need to output AVI files from Imaginate for EDIUS to work. Just the IVP file is good enough.

I still prefer having that HD output with full alpha from the avi file out of Imaginate and Stage Tools. I'm not sure if the IVP plugin will do all that I need it to do with transistion movement and alpha.

i dont understand why in the age of globalisation, we cant commission work internationally.

i can produce a 320x240 demo prior to finished products

I use a bit of imaginate here socially

The good videos have been removed but there is still some good stuff left. even though it says its removed, if you click PLAY the second time the Vlog videos will play

I hope i havent hijacked this thread too much ;)
