  • Edius 5 OHCI audio problems on capture

I just got one of my Edius 5 machines up and going at work. I have been capturing some video via firewire (ohci - no card). As I load the video I can hear the audio cutting in and out. After capture I notice that the video playsback fine but the audio randomly cuts out and comes back in - anyone have any ideas what might cause this issue?

    Thanks -
    Mat

Sorry, I don't know the answer, but I know it's not good protocol to post twice on the same subject.

If you have a VIA or NEC IEEE1394 Chip Set on the Mobo I would advise you to disable that in the Bios and purchase a PCI (e/x etc) plug-in card with TI (Texas Instruments) OXFORD or similar like Chip Set. (cheap one will do, just not V or N, try to avoid SIS & SIL also)

With your Edius purchase you have some sample footage that came on Disc ?
Can your system play back the SD / HD footage from the Edius timeline with no problems ?

When you play your captured footage back using Media player or the like, does the audio still drop out ?

Can you provide us a few more spec's of your system :)

I sorted it out - sorry for posting twice ... No one responded to the first post so I reworded it to see if I might get a response. Sorry for violating the rules. Thanks for your attempt at helping me but I have since discovered the problem is my deck failing to achive servo lock - I need to give it ref or blackburst I guess.

        Thanks

I tried to delete the other post but apparently only moderators can do that. Sorry again for violating your fine internet discussion forum sensabilities.

No Crime was committed, so no Sentencing needed :)

            Glad you solved the problem.
