  • Edius HDMI plan

So, here's my plan; what do you think?
I run Edius 5.01 on a Core 2 Quad Q6700 @2.66 mhz with 3gb RAM and NVidia GEForce 8800GT with 512 mb with XP service pack 3...and I am considering adding an HD Spark board with a Viewsonic VT2230 HDTV set
(1080p). I plan to use it as an Edius HQ time line monitor in PC mode and then to switch to HDMI mode for viewing Edius video output through the HD Spark...any comment, or thoughts on this plan.?
Any reason this wouldn't work ?
TIA for thoughts or experience in working this way.

I'm not sure what you mean by this?
You can watch your timeline AND HDMI at the same time.

Toby, Once you capture your HQ video into the your system, you will be able to put it on your timeline and simultaniously view the Edius' preview monitor window and your Viewsonic TV that is connected to the HDSpark's HDMI output.

There are many threads here regarding reference monitors that work best with HDMI output from the GV boards as well as resolutions and formats that work best.

You have not provided those details in your post. If you do provide every detail of what you are trying to do, you will get a lot of answers and feedback.

Thanks, George and Redgum...I feel confident that i can work the way i envision...so it's time to buy an HDSpark board and HDTV/monitor for this system.
        Thanks, again.

Yep, the HDSpark will output a frame accurate feed through it's HDMI port. It's a great board for what it does. Look into HDStorm+ though if you want to capture analog or have the ability for a realtime hardware HQ codec.
