it's a bit unclear whether BD disc burning can be done within edius (just like DVD can now) or whether you can just create a BD compliant file to burning using 3rd party s/w (like you can with 5.01 now)

    can someone clarify..

DVD Creator will let you author Blu-ray Disc titles, in much the same way as DVD.

And I think the Blu-ray compliant files (for 3rd party) use the regular software exporter, or FCBlu if you have it. I'm not entirely across these newer features, so my knowledge is impaired.

Was that a release date of May for Edius 5.1? Are there any other improvements to the DVD author tool? He asks hopefully:)

Will it address the 'catostrophic failure' and 3d pip problems?

What announce a point update at least a month and half away. This can drag out (as it has before) and become embarrassing.

It will be shown at NAB. But it will not ship until after the show.

This looks like a nice little update but not a NAB update. In the past Canopus has shown the .5s at the show not the .1s.

A pity that we have wait so long for overdue bug fixes just so that GV have something to show off at NAB...

I am still unable to use version 5 because of its inability to properly open version 4 projects without half of the larger m2t media files being reported 'off line' and then refusing to re-link into the project. This for me has been a show stopper.

I agree, we shouldn't have to wait until the NAB for an update, not when so many people are having problems with version 5.

I haven't had any issues going from vers. 4 to 5 with existing projects and p2 files. Guess im lucky???
So if you don't have this Aurora thing then ver. 5.1 benefits...how??? Not much to be excited over for me.
