  • 640x480 mpeg possible?

Is it possible to make a 640x480 mpeg with Edius 5?

    I've got an SD 4:3 avi and I want a 640x480 mpeg2 with AC3 audio.

Its all available in the exporter but I get 'Could not use the selected format. Please confirm setting'

    What am I missing?

    Yes, you're almost there...
    From the exporter pick
    MPEG (generic)
    Enable conversion
    Change video format (tickbox)
    Frame size - 640 x 480
    Change audio format (tickbox)
Export (16:9 footage won't use your dimensions)

    Next window...
    Audio Settings
    Format - Dolby Digital (AC-3)

      Thanks Rusty
But thats what Im doing and I get 'Could not use selected format. Please confirm setting.'

So this what Im doing with a 4:3 project and a 4:3 avi in the time line.

      1) Place in/out markers
      2) Hit F11
      3) Select MPEG on the left panel in the Exporter
      4) Tick Enable Conversion
      5) Tick Advanced (drops down with other functions)
      6) make sure I have MPEG Generic selected in to right panel
      7) Tick change video format
      8) Click drop down box 'Frame Size' and change to 640 x 480 (format becomes custom)
      9) Tick Change audio format
      10) Click Export to get to the next screen

Then I get my error message pop up.

I've had a look at the pdf manual and it says very little about this.

      Any ideas whats happening here?

      Cheers

If anyone can see what I'm doing wrong Id be gratefull, but no great problem as I just used Adobe Media Encoder.

I do find the exporter in 5 slightly troublesome.
