You must have been seeing the green component output only which appears B/W on a monitor.

Where would this setting have gone, I don't seam to have the Analog Output Settings option any more in the hardware settings.
The only thing I can think of is I was messing about with DVcapture earlier today, may be that changed something.

    Thanks again.

Wah ... very, very sneaky, indeed. I don't use the Bay on my workstation - all the wires are behind :-). Good, I am glad we got this fellow licked.

    Paul, I'll check that out,

Just to make sure I'm doing this right.

I have the lead here in front of me. Red and a Blue one end and S on the outer.
These Red and Blue plugs, I know I will plug them into the Bay outs (to see on TV) but what goes where in the Bay

And... just when your at it, when I want to capture sd footage through the front bay what colour goes where.

And...is there a Capture Utility for the HDStorm the way you had the DVCapture Utility for the DVstorm card

    Thanks.

thanks again, checked the other lead and still B&W, I turned the cable around and still B&W. Going to try capture in through the bay to see if this works.

Why can I see (or at least the last time i did this) HD footage via HDMI from the BAY???

Check your monitor /TV set up carefully, my Sony TV has a scart/S adapter.
When I select external input 3 I get black and white, select the next input which has an "s" on the OSD, I get colour, pretty much as Claire stated.

    Just a thought.

If that fails to resolve the issue for you, then the best option is to bring the box down to the Canopus dealer and ask him to diagnose it for you. Good luck.

Thanks again, just did that and as far as I see the cable can connect either end.
It must be the wiring I'm doing from the bay, only is the 2 so it can be that difficult

If the plugs aren't keyed - then I would assume the cable is omnidirectional. I don't have a HDStorm here - but, if ribbon cable is similar to what I seen for my NX card, either way doesn't matter. Best to consult the manual that the card comes with.
