Render speed question.

Hi

I have some 1920 x 1080 HQ footage I want to convert to DV. If I take the footage to ProCoder 3, the calculated time is aprox. 2 hrs for preset DV AVI WS. If I put the same files onto the timeline inside Edius it will only take aprox. ½ hrs.

Does anybodu know if I do something wrong in PC or has to change something there.

I take it you are using Edius 5 from the time you quote.
E5 is miles faster than Procoder 3 and I cannot find any difference in the quality, Make sure you select the Highest quality in the advanced tab.
Procoder only uses 25% of my quad core and E5 sets them singing or melting at 100%

Thanks Bluetounge - just thought it was strange, but it's no big deal - I just drop to timeline and export.
