Thanks guys for all of your help. Tech support had us do another uninstall/reinstall and delete several system folders and change processes and registry. It's all good now. -
Can you open Task Manager and then open Edius and see what processes are taking up what resources?Leave a comment:

As Torsten is alluding to, I think the XDCam Select is not part of your slow problem. Give us more info on your system, project settings, etc.Leave a comment:

Unfortunately the developers have decided that everyone needs to be running XD Select, whether they have a camera that needs it or not -- that has been a problem since the XD Select utility was created. There is no way to disable XD Select in a Preferences dialog or anything like that, so the easiest way to keep it from running is to rename the XDSelect.exe file in the Edius4 directory so Edius can't find it and launch it.
Regarding the slow response problem, can you open Task Manager and see what the CPU and memory utilization are? What are the hardware specs of your system? Do you have a current, WHQL-certified version of the drivers for your video card?Leave a comment:

Help with opening Edius...wierd problem
When I open Edius, the XD select dialogue box opens and after 10 minutes Edius might open, but then take another 5 minutes to recognize that I have clicked anything within the Edius dialogue box. I have upgraded my memory, uninstalled and reinstalled Edius, closed all background programs, etc.
I'm running XP and Edius 4.61 on all of my systems, but this is the only system that is experiencing this problem. Any suggestions?Tags: None
