  • best preset for dvd output?

I am new with editing. I use a canon HV20 hdv pal, capture as m2t (mpeg2 transport stream 1440x1080 top field first), edius 4.6.1
I need to export my work to a standard pal dvd with print to dvd function.
I've tryed with 2 different project settings: generic ohci sd pal 720x576 50i bottom field first and generic ohci hd 1440x1080 50i top field first. MAke two dvd and compared: with hd setup color looks washed out and contrast il worst. Why this happens?
    Thank you.
    Alessandro

This has been covered many a time (poor down-sampling of HDV to SD for DVD) and can be avoided with a few work arounds....but its not as time effective as Print to DVD.

Try searching, or hopefully someone will point you to a post? Anyway, its often better to shoot in SD if the desired final output is SD DVD. Regardless of Editing software.
When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.
