  • Is there an easier way to do this?

I need to cut a bit of several different clips into 2 or 3 frames each to create a fast action scene to match the beat of the music.
You normally see these on some music videos.

I've been doing it in the past by trimming each clip to 2 or 3 frames, then having to add or subtract a frame from each clip to syncronise it with the music beat.

Do the Avid/Premiere/other guys also sit there snipping at each frame to achieve this effect or is there an easier way. Depending on the beat of the music, you can sometimes have 20+ different clips for each second!

    Any ideas?

place the clip in the player window.

Set an In and Out point over the music whee you want the clip part to go

Set an In point on the clip in the player window on the frame where you want that segment to start.

Select the insert or overwrite button

This will place the exact amount of frames in between the in and out point on the timeline.

    This might help. :)

No great solution for me on this and not sure if Mike's will work better for you or not.

But you can run your clip off the timeline and use the trim mode there to shave the frames.

Not sure what you will like best.
