I've had a play with this, but found I'd made some mistakes I couldn't work out how to correct, so I closed TMP down, just so I could open it again and start over.

However, once closed it won't re-open, unless I close Edius down and restart that.

Is this normal, am I missing something?

I've done it 4 times now and it was the same each time.... the next three were just tests.

I still think you have a major PC issue

double clicking a title in the bin opens TM Pro fine for me

and double clicking title on timeline works the same

when you close Tm Pro, click save and exit

maybe your TM Pro has not been positioned correctly, are you using one or 2 monitors, if 2, which monitor is Tm Pro opening on?

    try restoring the default layout

Double clicking a title once made and on the timeline always opens up TMP.

If I make a title and don't save it, but close down TMP, it will then not re-open unless Edius is closed.

I use two monitors and it opens on the main monitor.

I'll try the default layout later, it's now just exporting an mpeg.

the reason why it won't open is because it is already open, so this is normal behaviour

simply click the tab on taskbar and it will be visible again

ideally, always save and exit, otherwise you can't add any other titles

Graham you need to save TMPro and exit out of it before going back to Edius...it will not work if you minimize TMPro and continue editing your project, you must always save (CTRL+S) in TMPro so you could be able to go back to Edius.

I wasn't minimising it, but closing it with the red x and choosing not to save.

            Today........

Open up project I was working on last night, TMP won't open at all.

Open new project, tmp opens, I add some text, I close with the red x, don't save and it re-opens. I did this 5 times.

I open up project from last night. TMP won't even open.

Close and restart edius, open project, TMP won't open.

I checked in case the timeline marker needed to be between an in/out point, didn't help.

D/clicking on a title on the timeline opens TMP. But after doing this TMP now opens from file/new/TMP

It also opened and closed several times without saving.

            I'm confused :(

              TMP motion question

I now have a title in my movie.

It is plain text with motion added to one group of words.

When I preview the motion, all is smooth and it looks good.

When I save the title and add it to the timeline when the text reaches it's end point it has a jump. The text when it reaches it's end movement point remains static for 25 frames.

If I move back and forward along the timeline using the arrow keys it doesn't jump.

              Play the timeline it jumps.

              Save the timeline it jumps.

Went back into TMP and checked that all the key frames at the end oint where in the same place, ie no additional keyframe that was a few points out. No, all is good.

I've got round it so I can export this movie out by removing the static section at the end, so the moving title is all movement and placing a still title the same at the end of it, which works great, but of course is a faff.

                1. you must save and exit, it is the only proper way, it is simple, Tm Pro even generates a file name for you, or you can type one if you choose save as....

                2. I don't know what you mean by it jumps? up? down? left? right?

                  It jumps down a bit.

If you could imagine a finishing point at x=35, but right at the very last frame it goes to x=33, so that when it plays the still bit of the title at x=35 it returns to it's proper place in the next frame.

If I do a frame by frame view of the title in the timeline of edius, it does not jump, it stays at x=35 for the last frame and then stays at x=35 for the still portion.
If I hold down the aroow key it plays at normal speed without the jump, if I hit the space bar and play the timeline it jumps.

I've tracked it in TMP and at no time does it go to the x=33 position.... as can be seen by the fact that if I remove the last still bit it doesn't jump.

                  Just odd.

can I see a screenshot of the Time Tab in TmPro, be sure to zoom in a bit with the zoom tool, looks like a mountain range

note: you can use 3D PIP on a title that is placed on a video track and create movements often faster than in TM Pro

I'll have to make it all over again, as I changed it to make it work.

I was playing with TMP to find out what it could and couldn't do and found this problem. I'll do it again later.

                      In the mean time,

If I want to create rolling credits, can I tab down to create a new line of text without it making a new box each time, now I type and I have to align each line centrally to see how my wording fits???

I hit enter to create a new line (never tried tab for going down)

in case your textbox is surronded by a freeform movement rectangle, then click inside the textbox and press Ctrl+Tab, this will kill the freeform and you can edit like a word processor, this is how I mostly use TM Pro and I have set this as default

if I need a freeform textbox, I press Ctrl+Tab again

                          Sorry, I meant enter.

Ctrl Tab, that's what I needed, cheers yet again, ok now to find out how to set this as default.

Do I use the template manager to make my template, becuase there is no "settings" or " default" listed in the help file!!!!

add a title to timeline and use Ctrl+Tab to switch off freeform

go to TM Pro file menu, template manager and click the update button, done
