Hmmm. Try selling that one to an editor who has to hurry and finish the edit while the producer is screaming in his ear that he needs the piece to air now.

Hi PJ, yep, I'm one of those producers running a State wide public network with feeds from all over. Edius's realtime pales into insignificance when you're taking data feeds from all over the place continuously. Finding another live Edius editor is at best difficult when most institutions and freelancers are using Prem Pro. We often need the project file for fine tuning.
I dearly wish it was the other way (Edius worldwide) but that isn't going to happen in the forseeable future. Adobe marketing is too strong.

        scary bug

Hi , I work edius 4.5 and I came across a problem that I wasn’t able to resolve.
Wile im editing, all of a sudden the visual in both of the screens became blurry and stays that way. When I reboot the software, the blur is gone but after a wile it comes back. After few times I thought that the problem was gone, but first time I did export , it came back “big time” like it was waiting there. Part of the file is blurry – the same pats that blurry on the timeline and screens.
i must say that I have this problem only in one project and in that project it starts only in the second tape the in the bin window.
Ill be glad if one of your responds will help me
        Thanks
        shari

Try using Edius to edit audio like soundbooth can. I noticed Edius 5 can finally crop the way most systems crop but you must use the lay out tool to do it. Using the Layout tool will let you add transitions to static PIPs. It is a nice feature but it should have been implemented in version 3. I already made the switch to the Adobe CS platform. I used to be caught up in the realtime horse power but now I realize the ease of the over work flow from start to finish is what should matter most.

The GUI of Premiere Pro is just much more refined than Edius 5. The GUI Of Edius gets cluttered when using a laptop. On dual monitors it works OK but I hate the fact that a seperate editing window is needed to edit a PIP. Edius is still using a plugin type architecture rather than leting you edit the PIP using the program monitor of Edius (FCP, Premiere even Avid Liquid uses this method). The Vector scope and waveform monitor also open up like a plugin rather than being part of a dockable pannel.

The RT of Edius is nice and thanks to version 5.0 it can do much more than version 3 but the GUI needs work.
