Live video image cut into two parts!

I have used many Canopus converters to migrate from S video Analogue to digital input for Mac OSX. I have one client who reports the image displays cut in helf and swapped (the top is on the bottom half and vice verse). They have tried it using a different camera and see the same results, below.

Has anyone seen this and any feedback is appreciated!

Looks like there's a problem with the video sync (vertical hold). What is the source device?
