ADVC-100 question

I am using a MacBook with this ADVC-100 and the status light on the unit will not go out - also, both digital in and analog out lights stay on and I am unable to use the input selector. I'm just using this with iMovie to transfer family VHS tapes to digital. It was working fine and now.... anybody know whats up?
(I make sure the power on the computer and the ADVC-100 is off before plugging in or removing the DV cable)..
