First of all, I did read some of the other threads about the Vista compatability with the ADVC-300, but this is something totally different.
SITUATION:
I just got a new Dell Studio laptop w/ Vista Home Premium SP1 and plugged my ADVC-300 up via firewire. I started my Vegas 8.0 to capture video. As soon as the capture video module opened, my screen went blue with the message "Hardware Malfunction" "System Halted" "Check Your Hardware Vendor"
I repeated this a number of times and got the same results each time. Each time the system froze and I had to do a cold shut down.
ALSO:
I tried the "Windows Import Video" and it produced the same blue screen results. I installed the "Picture Controller" and again got the same results.
RESEARCH:
I googled everything I could think of to see if there might be a fix and found nothing.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
