  • Transferring Disney VHS Tapes with a ADVC 110

I have bought an ADVC110 to use with my PowerBook G4 to transfer my large collection of VHS tapes to DVD. All the tapes and machines are PAL format for the UK. Other tapes work fine the Disney ones all have a strong red cast and degree of fuzziness. All play perfectly to the TV. I have tried 3 video machines all exhibit the same behaviour. Has anyone seen this before and does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks

    Andy.

I suspect that your problem is related to the analog Macrovision subsignal that is intended to stop duplication of the videos. You can expect the same problem with most commercial tapes. A TBC between the VCR and ADVC may allow you to remove the Macrovision subsignal.

Of course, Thomson Grass Valley do not endorse circumvention of anti-copy technologies, nor duplication of copyrighted materials...
