  • Picture Controller Application for ADVC-300

I'm trying to find a download for the picture controller application because I recently moved and can not find application disc anywhere. I saw a thread on here that said it's available in the download section but that was back in 2007 and I'm not seeing a download section on this site. Am I over looking it? Anyone know where I can download the application? Help is appreciated.

    It's still there (provided you've registered your ADVC300): http://www.canopus.com/support/downloads/products.php

As a matter of interest, what ever happened to the beta of Picture Controller where you were able to save pre-sets? Some (many?) of us complained for a long time about Picture Controller not being able to save different settings for different tapes. I did obtain a beta which saved the settings and it worked perfectly. However, I cannot find it now and I don’t think the posted application was ever updated. Can you please encourage "them", whomsoever they may be now, to re-visit this issue and make it possible to save the Picture Controller settings?

IIRC it was a third-party who did that utility?

Do you mean that a third party did the beta - or the orioginal application? I thought it was one of the team in Japan, with some prompting from UK Tech Support, who made the unreleased update. I have always assumed (wrongly?) that the Picture Controller software was developed in-house by Canopus.

Picture Controller is a TGV (former Canopus team) app. However, unless I'm thinking of something else, I believe the application written to save/restore settings was written by someone else.

Yeah, it was written by me :) See this post.

                  Oh, no it wasn't!

Not the one that I am talking about. It was not a separate application. It was an in-house beta of the Picture Controller software with the addition of the ability to save the settings. Someone in Tech Support sent me the beta (which I can no longer find.) I was aware of your application but that is not what I was referring to.

But I'm very interested to see if we can get hold of this beta, much better to have the save settings functionality built in.

Sorry to say, but I'm not seeing this beta anywhere it should be, within our internal file servers...

I've found an e-mail referencing it. I don't want to get anyone in trouble so if you want to PM me for further details.

                          Registration of used ADVC 300

Are second owners of Canopus devices permitted to register and download the software? I'm considering purchase of a used ADVC 300 and the program CD is not included.

By all means, yes. Just be sure that you fill out and send in this form after purchasing a used ADVC-300 so that we can add it to your product registry and remove it from the previous owner's account. Once it's registered in your user account, you'll be able to download the software and manual.

Kenneally or Chris... I purchased am ADVC-300 and have lost the box and my registration form, and (of course) the disk. (I'm usually not this careless!) I want to download the picture controller software, but cannot see it on the site. I am a registered user of the site, but I didn't send in my product registration card. Is there some way I can fix this and download the software? Thanks!
