  • Best quality S-VHS to DV

    Hi there,
I'm converting my S-VHS footage to DV-format (for later editing and DVD creation) and I want high quality.
Currently my Sony HC-90 camcorder is acting as analog-to-DV converter. Could I expect any quality improvement using a Canopus ADVC55 instead of the camcorder?

    Regards jorgen

the important thing is to make sure the S-Video signal is time base corrected

some S-VHS players have a built in Time Base Corrector such as Sony SVO-5800 or SVO-5600, maybe you can hire one for a day

Thanks for your answer, Anton. My JVC HR-S9700 has build-in Time Base Correction.
I understand from you, that in this case, the camcorders analog-to-DV convertion cannot be done any better by an ADVC55.
