    OK,

But my ADVC (1394) is a PCI connected device!

So how can I connect it to the onboard firewire bus??

Sorry, I got you confused with another thread.

I want you to ignore the ADVC1394 entirely for now, enable FireWire on your motherboard, and connect the camera to your motherboard's FireWire.

        As Brandon said.

I'd go a step further and (if you can) physically remove the ADVC1394 board, and work without it for a few days to genuinely make sure the crashes are gone. Your next step is going to have to be that you contact technical support to take things further. (but be aware that the ADVC1394 is getting on in age, and may be out of warranty)

          OK,

I will remove the ADVC from my computer, and work a few days without it!
We will see if that solves the problem.

          I will let you know.

          For now, thank you!
