  • ADVC 100 Hangs Edius / Scene Detection Off

Hi there, i have tried to connect an ADVC to a computer with Edius 4,5 so as to capture from a analog source (VHS) in order to convert it to DVD. The problem is that if i start Edius and ADVC is powered on, in most of the cases Edius hangs and i need to restart the computer. Sometimes even if i start Edius first and open the ADVC later edius takes some time and then hangs. Any suggestion to this problem?

Moreover i would like to ask if there is a possibility to capture through edius and not have scene detections as every flicker in video usually is interpeted as cut and i end having a million parts on every VHS.

Finally, when i open ADVC it goes to digital input automatically. What can i do so as to have it on analog input (i think it is a dip shitch but which one?) since i use it more often than digital?

    Regards to all

Many people capture using WinDV. It is a free, tiny application which is optimised for capturing. Try that, and if you find that WinDV is also having issues then there is a problem with your system. Note that you won't hear audio in WinDV's preview, but the audio will be captured into the AVI file.

Hi, thanks for the response, i have already tried that but i was wondering if there was something more sofisticated. Any idea about the crashes?

Does your system hang when you use WinDV?
