  • Avdc300 Distortion Line On Bottom Of Screen

I just started using a ADVC300 an after it captures a vhs tape the playback leaves a distorted squiggly line about 1/16 tall on the bottom of the screen. It does it to all my recordings, old tapes and new. Is something set wrong?I'm not a computer wiz.

    this is perfectly normal

the line is the VCR head switching points which is hidden by the TV overscan function

only a PC monitor will show you this, so don't worry

Yep, this is normal. That's why televisions "overscan", that is they don't show the edges of the video.

Of course if your aim is to have this playing back on your computer and it annoys you, then you will have to crop it off in your video editing program before rendering the final video. But if your aim is to put it on DVD for playback on your television, then don't worry, you won't see it.
