    Do you have both your Panasonic deck and the ADVC300 connected? If so, disconnect one.

      Connecting multiple DV devices on the FireWire bus is generally problematic.

      The issue is that a lot of software doesn't differentiate between different DV devices and assumes there's only one.

      In the case of connecting your Panasonic deck through the ADVC300, you have both the Panasonic deck and the ADVC300 on the FireWire bus, so when Premiere sends control codes, it's uncertain whether the control goes to the Panasonic deck or the ADVC300. Same with timecode.

      You should get a FireWire A/B switch similar to this one.

      Also, you are aware that the ADVC300's video processing applies only to the analog input, so there's no advantage from passing the DV signal through the ADVC300, right?
