These are old Canopus SKUs or manufacturers part numbers, not model numbers. The model number would be the "300" in ADVC-300, since there are several ADVC devices: ADVC-55, ADVC-110, ADVC-300, ADVC-700, etc.

Though there is absolutely no difference in the features, function or appearance of any of these devices, there are explained as followed...

776-10133-105 - The "776" portion of the part number indicates that this unit was SKUed for our Academic distribution channel. The "105" portion of the part number indicates that it was manufactured after June 2006 and was manufactured to be RoHS compliant, as should be indicated by a small sticker on the back of the box near the UPC label.

770-10133-100 - The "770" portion of the part number indicates that this was a standard retail ADVC-300. The "100" portion of the part number indicates it was manufactured prior to June 2006, and does not meet RoHS compliancy standards for the reduction of heavy metals and potentially toxic fire retardants in the unit's construction.

This is all old information now. These were Canopus part numbers, and they have long since been replaced by Grass Valley inventory SKUs. However, this doesn't change a thing when it comes to the functioning of the device: there is absolutely no difference in the features, function or appearance of any of these devices. And ADVC-300 is an ADVC-300.

What does the "model number" mean?

I'm looking to buy an ADVC300. Stores are using different "mfr/model numbers" in the descriptions. One has 776-10133-105, another has 770-10133-100, still another has 770-10133-105. What do they mean? Thanks.
