export to tape

i have an advc 300, i use premeire pro cs3. i need to put some video from premiere onto vhs tape. the advc 300 is supposed to be able to do this, but i can't figure out how. i thought all i had to do was to have premiere "export to tape" and push record on the vcr. it doesn't work. i have all the cables plugged in correctly.

anyone have a clue on how to do this?

Yes, that should be all you have to do.
Make sure Device Control is enabled in the Premiere Export to Tape settings and the ADVC is in Digital In mode.
