ADVC700 and Latitude D820 problems

We am having trouble with a advc and a Latitude D820. We are editing on the Latitude D820 and connect to the 700 by firewire through an airbus adaptor (4pin on laptop has problems with motherboard). Sometimes the ADVC700 will not be recognized by the laptop.

Did you mean Cardbus instead of airbus, or is airbus some new interface that I don't know about?

I strongly recommend using a 6-pin connection when possible, as the connector is less prone to damage and connection problems.
